Why Did Josh RIley Help Donald Trump Pass The Stable Genius Act?
Do you remember when Donald Trump declared to the world, “I am a very stable genius?”
Now, Josh Riley has supported that statement, by helping Donald Trump to pass the Stable Genius Act.
S. 1582 is the number of the bill we’re talking about this week on Josh Riley Watch. The Stable Genius Act is its name.
It's called the Stable Genius Act because, well, it's supposed to be a genius act about stablecoins, but you know what the phrase “stable genius” means.
“Stable Genius” is a term of praise that Donald Trump to gave himself. Years ago, Trump told the world, “I am a very stable genius.” Back then, what would you have guessed would be the chances that a sitting member of Congress who's in the Democratic Party would actually endorse that idea?
That's exactly what Congressman Josh Riley did last week. He voted for S. 1582, the Stable Genius Act, a piece of legislation that Donald Trump asked him to vote for.
Listen to what U.S. Representative Maxine Waters had to say about that.
“A vote for S. 1582 is a vote to give Trump the pen to write the rules that would put more money in his family's pocket.”
Maxine Waters isn't just any Democratic member of Congress. She is the highly experienced Democratic leader of the U.S. House Financial Services Committee.
She is telling us that this bill, S. 1582, enables Donald Trump to write the rules for his own business involving stablecoin, involving cryptocurrencies.
Congressman Josh Riley voted for this legislation. Why would he vote to help Donald Trump in that way?
“A vote for S. 1582 is a vote for consumer harm.”
Maxine Waters is warning us that S. 1582, the Stable Genius Act, enables cryptocurrencies to use stablecoins, and traditional corporations to use stablecoins, to operate in new ways that evade consumer protections on investments. Why would Congressman Josh Riley vote in favor that?
“A vote for essence 1582 is a vote to plant the seas for the next financial crisis.”
Maxine Waters, the Democratic leader of the U.S. House financial Services Committee, is warning that S. 1582, the Stable Genius Act, will create the conditions that are necessary for the next huge financial crisis, a financial crisis that a professor of law giving testimony to the Senate Financial Services Committee warned could be even worse than the Great Depression.
Why would Josh Riley vote for that?
“A vote for S. 1582 is a vote to endanger our national security.”
U.S. Representative Maxine Waters, the Democratic leader in the entire US House of Representative on issues of finance, is warning that S. 1582 will leave us vulnerable in terms of national security. That vulnerability exists because S. 1582 enables foreign powers to directly bribe and influence the President and Vice President of the United States of America.
You’ve got to ask yourself: Why would Democrat U.S. Representative Josh Riley vote for that kind of legislation?
Lots of Democrats are asking that question. It isn't just Maxine Waters.
In the next episode of this podcast , Josh Riley watch, you're going to hear from a number of Democratic leaders in the U.S. House of Representatives, explaining why Josh Riley's vote for S 1582, the Stable Genius Act was a big mistake.
